Default Bet or check the turn after a \"continuation\" bet on a missed flop?

I recently started to play 6max seriously. The tuffest desitions i find is when i raise pre flop and miss the flop and get one caller and the turn also miss but dont complete a straight or flushdraw... Should i continue with a bet or take a free card? Say i raise AKo and the flop is Q63 rainbow and the turn is a 9. I have no straight draws and i may be drawing dead if the caller has something like A6 or K6. Wich type of player should i be more careful aboute betting against? A calling station or a tight agressive player? I feel like a tight agressive player might check raise me as a bluff if i bet the turn and a calling staition will call all the way with any pair. But then again both of those types may fold to a turn bet or i may even be ahead with my AK. I tend to always bet with 2 overs but check the turn with only one overcard (say i had A5 instead) Is there some guidelines to give me here?

These situations can be complicated. One consideration is how loosely your opponent will call the flop. (There are some 6-max players who will almost automatically see the turn, but not everyone is like this.)

As a default, I think getting called on a Q63r flop when you're holding AK is not a good sign.

Against a loose-passive player who could be chasing with one overcard, betting again with the intention of checking behind on the river is a serious consideration.

Against a TAG, there's a good chance you're in trouble, though I guess he could have 54s or 75s or something (in the BB).

I probably bet-fold against the TAG if he's in the BB, but I don't feel comfortable. He's not going to be shy about checkraising a pocket pair, which would lead to me making a bad fold. So bet-call is another consideration, and if he's aggressive/tricky enough to checkraise a draw, so is checking behind with the idea of calling a river bet.

Edit: The pot size is of course another factor. I'm going to be more inclined to try to get to showdown if three people went to the flop instead of two (thus making the HU pot on the turn a little bigger), while at the same time a competing factor is that as the pot gets bigger, whatever folding equity I have becomes more valuable.
