Stars $20 MTT: Pot Odds Calls and a the Gigabet Dilemma

I am at the final table of last night's 6:00 $20 MTT on Stars. And a couple times, there is a situation where I am obligated, I think, by pot odds to call. The first I think it's easily +cEV on that hand and in the long run, but the 2nd one I'm less sure about. I'm quite confident it was +cEV that hand, but it may be the opposite of the Gigabet Dilemma. That is to say, that if I lose it, I think I'll lose the ability to pick off blinds. The two hands are posted below.

Here is the first hand. My read on the villain is that he's pushing any two here, he seemed like a solid player, and even if his range was smaller, I'd be compelled to call.

Here is the second hand. Note that my stack now is 75K instead of 100K. The read was basically the same on this player, he's pushing any two from there.

Now, maybe I'm just being results oriented and I'm frustrated that I lost the hands, but should I have called the second one given that it could drop me in chips to a point where i'm committing 1/3 of my stack if i tripple the BB?

I ended up running QQ into AA a few hands later taking 7th.

Flames would be appreciated if they are there. I just want to know if it's stupid to be calling these or stupid to be considering not?
