Default LC: Replying to posts and forum etiquette

Just my few cents about a common habit that has started to annoy my lately. People, please don't just hit any reply button when posting your comments to threads. Seems like this kind of posting has gotten very popular, and it makes following the discussion very hard. I use the flat mode when browsing through a thread, but that kind of posting makes threaded mode impossible to use.

Thank you.

jii,

No one uses threaded mode any more. Just adopt the El Diablo reply system as I have.

How is this huh? People are commenting my posts by replying to someone elses posts? Doesn't really help finding the ones I'm looking for. I don't really mind if someone replies to OP like this, not a big problem.

Then my comments about the threaded mode can be ignored. If ED reply system is about replying to OP, I'm fine with it. Someone commenting one and half pages after my reply by replying to another post makes it almost impossible to find.

jii,

its pretty easy. When its not obvious who you are replying to, just put the postes name at the start. Problem solved

Sorry, I did this on a previous thread. I use flat mode and I guess the quick reply form just replies to the last post on the thread.
