Default Jamie\'s School Lunch Project

Anyone seen this show?

If not, here's the premise: Celebrity chef Jamie Oliver tries to reform UK school lunches from chips (fries), pizza, and burgers to healthier options. He is naively optimistic but perseveres. Most of the kids and even the staff rebel. The "lunch ladies" (cafeteria workers) don't know how to cook at all. They know how to reheat food, but not prepare it.

My review: Good, interesting, real show. This show is reality TV at it's best. Not only is it a truly great concept that doesn't take advantage of anyone, it's also interesting to watch because the kids and lunch ladies are so full of spirit, as is Jamie.

Has anyone else seen it? What do you think?

Was huge over here last year do a search on the BBC news site probably a lot of background on there about the interest it generated. All the schools in my area have now changed their menu to a point, on top of that Mcdonalds have changed their Chicken Nugget recipe after his demo on the show to a new "healthier" one and have fruit as an option in happy meals.

The schools in my area are also handing out free fruit every day. Unfortunatley the Minister of education has changed twice since the show so not sure how much the governement is getting behind it although they seem to have pledged £280m to improve the food.

Its a good show and I agree the right sort of reality tv show.
