Default Poker in Aruba

I am headed to Aruba for a family vacation and plan to gamble at there many casinos. I would like to find some MTT's down there, but I'm not sure this is possible. Anybody have experience in Aruba or knowledge to share? I know there are cash tables which I may hit, but I'm not sure I have the BR for it. I figure there are plenty of moron tourist to cancel this factor out tho.

The Radisson has a pokerroom and that's where the WPT Aruba was played. They had some games there during the event, obviously, so I don't know what stakes they have there during non-tourney time, but they do run games.

I went last September and stayed at the Radisson. Poker is played nightly at the Radisson, the Holiday Inn (about seven minutes walk), and one other hotel next to the Radisson (I can't remember the name). These hotels are all on Palm Beach - I don't think there is any poker along Eagle Beach or in Oranjestead.

Basically every night of the week one of the three places is the place to play. Most nights it's the Radisson, which is where the WPT event is held (very nice room). There's usually a $20 - $40 rebuy tournament at the particular hotel that starts between 8:00 - 9:00 PM and then there are limit games and one bigger $2-5 no limit game or a $10 - 20 limit game. The action on that game can get pretty wild, especially at the Holiday Inn (which may be closed for remodelling right now - I'm not sure). However, the other two hotels might be a little dead on their "off" nights. I would first get the Radisson's tournament schedule when you get into Aruba and then ask the locals which room to go to on what night. However, every room spreads the "standard" Aruba game, which is a $4 - 8 spread limit game (you can between betweeen $4 and $8 on the flop and later). You should get at least a table or two at each hotel by 10:00 PM at night running until about 4:00 AM.

You might do well by getting the number to all three poker rooms when you first get to Aruba. If you like loose action I would try to make it to the Holiday Inn on its big night if you can (although the casino there is not very nice).

I can tell you a lot more about Aruba, just ask you questions and I will try to answer them. I enjoyed it very much - I hope I can go back one day (esp for the WPT)!

The casino which has not been named is the Casablanca Casino at the Wyndham Hotel. I haven't been back since 7-card stud was king there, but I have kept up and I will be going myself this summer, so post what you find!!
