PLO8 - Pokertracker stats
I'm fairly new to this game and therefore curious as to what some good players stats are for this game. I haven't really played enough hands yet for most of my stats to converge and I know I am playing quite tight but would like a general baseline of what others are doing.
The game in question is PLO8 $50, $100, or $200 atm - 10 handed. |

Re: PLO8 - Pokertracker stats
In my opinion optimal long term stats are:
VPIP: 25-35% PFR: 8-13% (or 0) W$WSF: 30+% WtSD: ~30% W$SD: anything > 50% is fine Postflop AGG: >2 BB/100: >0 In reality any style from 10/0/1 to 50/15/3 can make money, but the optimal numbers centre on 30/12/2 IMO. Just a warning: this is not a guide for individual tables. On some tables 40/20/flop ag. 5 is optimal, on others 20/0/1 is the right style. |

Seems like you would want to be selective with the hands that you play to make sure you hit good flops and can put in chips with big equities. |

Re: PLO8 - Pokertracker stats
Why do you want to "make sure" you hit good flops?? This is PL, not ultra aggressive no limit.

Re: PLO8 - Pokertracker stats
Because this seems like a game where back door draws and redraws are important and having nicely co-ordinated hands helps a lot with that aspect.
But, I posted this for feedback so I don't pretend to know the right numbers just what I feel is correct at the moment. Why would you want to play a bunch of non-coordinated hands if you don't need to? This isn't PLO, I would think that we need to be a bit more selective with our hands. (To get to 30% that must include some weird looking hands). |

Re: PLO8 - Pokertracker stats
Phil hit the nail on the head when he said many styles can win. However, some styles are too difficult/stressful for some players to employ correctly (I'm thinking of relatively LAG play like 35/15 or greater). It sounds like you might fall in this category, which is nothing to be worried about--join the crowd, including me. For full ring, targeting something in the 25/5 range will win quite nicely if you take advantage of some common bluffing opportunities and have opponents who are clueless, which shouldn't be a problem. Postflop aggression and the rest depends largely on the VPIP/PFR you settle on, as well as the nature of your regular opponents, so discussing that stuff isn't as important IMO.

[/ QUOTE ] There are lots of different styles that can win, but januarymute's 25/5 is closest to the correct default style, imho. Playing looser than that can be optimal, but only if you have good postflop and hand reading skills and your opponent can make some mistakes. -g |

Re: PLO8 - Pokertracker stats
Against bad opponents (as in complete idiots), I agree with you, 25/5 is far superior to 30/12, especially if you wish to multi table.
