6-handed. Opponent is one of the better regulars. Basic TAG game with a few weird/tricky moves sometimes, including preflop. I have 3900, he covers.
Folded to Villain in SB who completes, I knock with J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. He completes a lot, and I'm fairly sure it means a marginal hand more often than not, but he can be tricky preflop sometimes. I should probably start raising his completions more often, but maybe I play too many tables and don't pay enough attention. Flop Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] with 40 in the pot. He bets 25, I make it 75, he calls. Turn T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] with 190 in the pot. He bets 110, I make it 400, he calls. River 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] with 990 in the pot. He checks. I have no idea what his line means. I'm pretty confused. Do I bet at this? What do you think he has? |

I usually give up here. I can't see that river card getting him to fold anything that he wouldn't have dropped on the turn. This is a line that I would take with 9 10 and Q 10 sometimes, although I think most opponents would reraise you with both of those hands. Most people would get away from just a pair of tens on the flop if you haven't been popping them a lot. I can see J10 and QJ calling your flop raise so J 10 makes a lot of sense here because it is reasonable for him to call the turn with trips. KJ is also a possibility , but would this opponent ever limp in with J10, QJ, or KJ?

Generally when a good opponent calls that turn raise and checks to me on the river, I am expecting to get looked up a high percentage of the time on this board.

his flop and turn action looks like the nut straight to me, and I expect him to call most river bets, especially blind v. blind. i think i give up here.

Your line makes no sense for any hand other than a full house.... a descent hand reader is picking this off.
