Somewhat Deep with a Set on a scary board
Full Ring 10/20.
Hero opens on the button to 80 with 66. BB ($4400) calls. Hero covers. BB is overaggressive and not very good. He makes some strange bets and spews at times. Hero hasn't been out of line although he has bluffed plenty against villian in the past. Flop T86r. Villian checks, hero bets 140, villian makes it 380. Hero calls. Turn 9. Villian bets 760. Hero calls. River 5. Villian bets 1520. Hero calls. How'd I do? |

Since you're so deep I might 3-bet the flop to induce a 4-bet, but as played it looks good.

Re: Somewhat Deep with a Set on a scary board
Yea, this a tough spot. Normally I would 3-bet the flop, but against an over-agg who is likely bluffing the flat call is fine. Definitely call the turn. Has the villain fired 3 barrel bluffs in the past or will he give up on the turn? Crappy spot, but given his image I would close my eyes and call

Re: Somewhat Deep with a Set on a scary board
It seems like the way this hand played out, calling the river is natural after calling the turn. However, the way his bet sizes increase exactly 2x each street makes me think he's trying to extract value, unless that is standard for him. I don't think anyone can give you a good response on this hand without knowing the player as well as you do...
