Default Alito lied to get confirmed

In 1984, Conerned alumni of Princeton caused a major scandal, which was covered in the NYT and Princeton Alumni publications, that involved the group harrassing a minor and invading her privacy by disclosing her full name and details of her sex life. Before 1984, the group had a well known, 13 year track record and agenda to keep women and minorities out of the school.

In 1985, Alito put membership in two organizations on his job application, Federalist society and CAP.

In 2006, he claimed that he couldn't remember ANY details of his involvement. Are you buying it? I put two organizations on my resume as well, a fraternity I joined an the Varsity letters I recieved from playing football in college.

Did you see Spector lie when he stonewalled attempts to look into CAPs archives?

Here is a recent exchange between Bork and Blitzer talking about the hearings:

[ QUOTE ]

BLITZER: Very diplomatic answer, I must say. How do you think he handled himself?

BORK: Very well. He's walking away from a lot of things. That was one example.

BLITZER: Including you, right.

BORK: Yes.

BLITZER: So why do you say he handled himself very well?

BORK: The object nowadays is to get confirmed. People will say pretty much -- or avoid saying pretty much in order to get confirmed.

[/ QUOTE ]

Why can't Alito be honest? How come he can't come out against abortion? Is it because he wouldn't get confirmed if we knew his REAL views on issues like woman's rights, contraceptive use, police power, presidential power etc?

Is this what a responsible dutiful judge is supposed to do?

The Democrats got Ted Kennedy to be the front man on this, as his past is impeccable....

That certainly sounds like proof Alito didn't lie.

Again...I fail to see how this proves that he lied...

I joined the Science Fiction Club at my college the first week I go there and never went to the meetings, but you could probably go back in the records and see my name on the members roster.

There is no proof, but Alito is clearly lying here. Stick by your man if you will, but Alito claims not to remember anything, while at the same time definitely knowing that he didn't stand by the ideals of the group at the time. I don't really blame him for lying here - CAP is not the type of group most want to be associated with.

Alito put membership in two organizations on his job application

SO what job applications have you put your Science Fiction Club membership on? And if He didn't lie and really has no knowledge of this group, did he lie on the job application? Could this be called a conservative Flip-Flop?
