Default NL full games versus 6 max

I initially started as a limit player, but recently I've been playing a lot of NL.

I play strictly short-handed limit, because quite frankly the tables are looser.

The full tables at low-limit NL are pretty loose. What would the advantage be in playing NL 6-max?

Short handed is often about stealing and defending blinds, but with the current blind structure in NL, they're simply too puny to bother with. I see players stealing 35cents at 25NL - why, I ask myself. You can successfully steal 5 times and the 6th time you run into a monster (or a colossal bluff) and you're posting a loss.

I see 6-max as a perfect vehicle for limit. Can someone illuminate me?

My take on it is you use the blind steals, continuation bet steals, etc. to piss the people off so that they'll decide to put all their money in against you with an inferior hand. It's all a setup for the big ones, which come more frequently than you'd think.

6-max puts the fish in more marginal situations, where you can exploit them.

I am making 70PTBB/100 stealing with 37% of my hands from CO/Button. If you are beating that winrate while playing a third of the deck in other positions then that's cool.

Edit for correctness.

Every successful blind steal translates to 7PTBB/100. It's not puny. Besides, with position you're not afraid to play them after the flop at all. You edge is greater in a raised pot.

Your steal percent is right on. You should be stealing about 35% of the time. You are running well though.
