Lame move?
$1/2 no limit game at FW. There is an old guy with about $40 in chips and a wad of $20 bills. According to the rules, the $20 bills don't play on the table. I notice them, but don't say anything because I don't care. Old guy gets into a hand with another guy. I think it goes raise, reraise, re-reraise and then all in by the old guy as he pushes all his $20 bills in. Other guy calls. They flip and old guy has AA and other guy has KK. THird guy, not in the hand at all, says "the $20 bills don't play." KK guy remembers the rule and then starts whining "that's right, the $20 bills don't play - call the floor." Floor comes over and it's a quick decision - Yes, the $20 bills don't play. So old guy has to take the $100 in bills back and instead just doubles up his $40 in chips when his AA holds up against KK. I understand the rule and the decision. But anyone else find it to be a dick move that (a) the guy who is not in the hand points out the rule and (b) the guy with the KK latches on to it? If old guy turns over KK and other guy turns over AA, I'm sure AA guy isn't going to jump to enforce the "20 dollar bills don't play" rule. Everyone could see that the old guy had $20 bills on the table. I think it was a total dick move to decide to say something when you're in a hand with the guy and he has you by the balls. |

Re: Lame move?
It's the old guys fault for not knowing the rules of the casino / knowing them and being an idiot about it.

Re: Lame move?
1.) Turn both of your cards over at showdown.
2.) If you're not in the hand, don't talk. As far as I knew, the $20s were not ALLOWED however they were still in play. I think you should have said something to him in between hands, you noticed it and the guy ultimately got screwed. I wonder how long he had the $20s there/how many dealers sat down and didn't notice it or didn't do anything about it. Yes, they are both dicks, I think the KK guy more so than the nit who brought it up. |

Re: Lame move?
i don't think old guy knew the rule. but you don't agree that it's a dick move to know the rule, only point it out to the old guy when you're in hand with him, he has you by the balls, and enforcing the rule will help you? i do.

Re: Lame move?
How could the KK "know" the rule if he didn't immediately complain when the cards were turned over? It took a third party to point out the rule.
Lame move nominations: Dealer, for impersonating a cigar store Indian. Third guy, for not saying anything until the cards were flipped. You, for "not caring". If you had said something earlier, there would have been no problem. |

Re: Lame move?
I didn't care because i could see that he had about $100 worth of 20 dollar bills. It wasn't like he had a massive wad and it was impossible to see how much cash he had, which I believe is the reason for the rule. I had him outstacked. |

Re: Lame move?
Not really ... these old-timers are angle-shooters more often than you realise.

It's the old guys fault for not knowing the rules of the casino / knowing them and being an idiot about it. [/ QUOTE ] If the latter I can agree. But if it is the former the dealer is at fault. If e phemeral saw the twenties, then the dealer should have, and informed the old guy that the bills did not play. |

Re: Lame move?
Agreed, as easy as it is to blame the dealer... this time I blame the dealer.
I've seen several FW dealers make someone exchange $20s for chips, as they should. Jeez, just give the guy four quarters for 5 $20s or whatever and keep the game moving. |
