Bet out. I'm a bit confused by the preflop action - did he raise to 3BB or 4BB?

This is a fine to bet into the pfr. C/ring is bad b/c you don't really know where you are and it will be much more expensive as well as make the pot bigger. By making a significant flop bet you allow pfr to define his hand a little bit better when he either raises, calls, or folds.

Yes, but I hate this situation. Maybe it's just me, but I have a really hard time putting someone on a hand here. If you lead out, depending on the players, you'd probably get AK,Aq, etc. to fold (MAYBE). But they probably wouldn't raise, so if there's just a call I think you're good. Problem is when you bet out, and get raised. Because with that flop, AA-KK will quite possibly it just the same as 99's or 10's would. I've seen that situation more than I like, and without much to distinguish the hands, I seem to be calling on a whim. So yea, if anyone wants to help me there, I'll semi-hijack.

I think you have to bet out here. You called his bet preflop, and pretty much hit the flop you were looking for. You can't give him a free card here.

If you get check-raised, it certainly puts you to a hard decision, but that's just what happens sometimes.
