Default WW \"etiquette\" question

Last turbo game I was a villager and saw two of the players reading and sending PMs before the game started. It was pretty obvious they were wolves so I PMd the moderator to let him know. Since it was 2 (out of 3) wolves, it would have been a huge advantage and I asked to be replaced.

What's the consensus on seeing players who aren't invisible on 2+2? Is it any different from having one of the players on your AIM, and seeing them go from offline to online, or from away to active? Is it best to tell everyone in the signup thread to set themselves to invisible? Should it just be declared illegal?

All WW players should set themselves invisible. If for some reason you see someone, I think you should tell the mod, and he should reassign/replace (probably reassign)

Potentially retarted question: This is under personal --> View Who's online --> select no, correct?

I think that players should have to set themselves to invisible. But players should not also be looking for cheap ways to figure out people are WW. The point is to figure out what people are from their posts in their thread. I do remember one game where I was seer with 7 people left. and was able to clear two villagers. But I noticed Kyro had been idle on AIM for the past 2 hours. If I had mentioned that the villagers would have won. But they would have won from something unrelated to any of kyros posts in the thread. As it was villagers ended up losing.

Actually, this came up tonight during one of my games too: except in that case, it was the wolves, wondering if somebody was the seer (which it wasn't since I was IMing the seer, not pming them, also everybody gets pms before my games, so just reading one doesn't mean much).

I've never used the tactic myself, but on reflection, I think I will be putting a reminder in MY signup threads that players need to set themselves to invisible. With the vets...ahhh. you're on your own. But we are having more and more newer players recently.

One tactic that I have used in longer games, though, is "show all posts" to see if someone is just hanging around 2p2, not posting in the game thread.

How does everyone feel about that?

I do this occasionally and think it is fair game.
