Ok... wanted to share this little thing with OOT, hopefully people will have some tips of their own...

Awesome site, what you do is everytime you need to verify something by email you enter xxxxx@dodgeit.com, where xxxxx can be absolutely anything. Then you go to dodgit and type in xxxxx and you can check the inbox there. Good for registering for porn, www.pandora.com, poker sites etc. without getting spam or daily e-mails at your regular inbox. Remember though, anyone and everyone can acccess it, nothing is password protected. It's also fun to guess the kinds of names people used and read their inboxes, see what kind of pervted e-zines they are using it for.

Also, and obvious tip to get out of the way: anything you ever need to know will be on www.wikipedia.org.

dodgeit.com seems silly....it's just ANOTHER email address. I just set mine up at junkjunkxx@hotmail.com and use it for all potential spam. I don't see how dodgeit is anything but another email address with LESS capabilities.

I have 2 main email accounts, one for friends/family/financial info, the other for all web signups and anything potentially spammy.

Works like a charm.

It just seems quicker, I had a spam only hotmail address but they shut it down everytime I left it idle for 60 days, I had to remember the password and I had to clean it out if it ever got full. Thank god gmail has moved us out of the dark ages of having hotmail as my main address.

If anyone still uses hotmail or yahoo PM me your email fi you want a gmail invite.

I guess isntead of complaining, I'll contribute. Not sure if this is standard or not, but:
bugmenot.com is cool. Let's say there's a website you have to signup for in order to view something (eg. nytimes.com). Just go to bugmenot.com and enter in the website, and there's already user/pass combos available for you to use so you don't have to sign up for anything. (eg. link ).

If you're using mozilla firefox, you can get an extension and then all you have to do is rightclick the webpage and click "bugmenot" and it automatically types in the user/pass for you.

I think that more time is wasted by creating and checking a secondary email address than by just deleting/filtering spam from one email account. I used to do the two email address thing. Having one just works so much better for me, but I work at a computer so I check my email frequently. I rarely have the problem of sitting down to 100 new messages and trying to sift out what's important.

Havn't checked out this site, but it sounds a lot like www.slushmail.com which is very handy!
