Worst bicycle accident stories...

Lets hear them. an idea thought of by Bart from Live at the bike. As for mine:

Riding down the street trying to do tricks on my mountain bike I saw on Pee Wees Big adventure. Bike went into the dirt and went sailing into a fence. 10 stitches under my chin. Wasnt trying to be Pee Wee after that.

When I was in grammar school a kid cut the brake lines on another kids bike that he had been fighting with. The kid with the broken brakes lived on a steep hill. Next time he went out on his bike he went careening down the hill, fell, fractured his skull, and missed an entire year of school.

My friend stole a bike.

Long story short, he was riding it and he woke up next to an ambulance. Turns out the front tire was [censored], it fell off, he smashed his head and he had to go to the ER.

He tells me this story and says "karmas a bitch".

First time riding a bike in a while when I was younger. I was going down a steep street and as I said I hadn't rode a bicycle in a while so I was pretty rusty. With the acceleration in speed, going down the hill, I got nervous and tried to stop as fast as possible. Unfortunately, I pressed down only on the front break. This resulted in me doing a front flip landing teeth first. I broke my wrist, had a concussion, and chipped a few teeth [img]/images/graemlins/cool.gif[/img] I guess you can forget how to ride a bike.

6 years old. riding in an alley behind our row of houses. it wasn't cement though, it was just a bunch of rocks on top of dirt, you know? i forget exactly what happened but i went over the handle bars and had to get some stitches on my forehead.

my dad said i looked like frankenstein and i started crying. my mommy gave me a hug though and everything was alright [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

Sand in the northeast (from snow) on the side of the road= -EV. Trying riding down a hill on asphalt and suddenly losing control of your front wheel in a lump of sand.

5 years old, riding on top of handlebars of my dad's bike and begged him to not go off the curb. The next thing I know, they can't get my foot out of the spokes of the wheel. 100+ stitches, blood transfusion, and a cast later, the doctor said that although this accident is common he had never seen a worse case. Still have a massive scar 31 years later and an indent in my ankle where there shouldn't be one.
