Default Eric Seidel and his KK vs. AA

I was just looking at the live updates on Card Player for the WSOP event taking place at Caesars (http://cardplayer.com/poker-tourname...mp;screen=logs) and saw that Eric Seidel lost when he was dealt KK and ended up going all in preflop against AA. I've often wondered if there is anyway to avoid a cold decking like this; especially so close to the final table.... any thoughts on his play and if can be played differently? In the situation he found himself, is there any way he can get away from it?

Sean McCabe raises to $12,000 preflop and Erik Seidel moves all in for about $50,000 more. McCabe makes the call and shows Ah-Ac.

Sure. He can get McCabe to show him aces before moving in.

No, Blinds were 2k/4k and Seidel had only 50k, if he doesn't go broke with KK to AA there, he's playing horribly.

He should have looked into McCabe's soul and saw that he has aces. Easy fold, then.

Not a chance. With blinds at 2k/4k and about 60k in your stack, you LOVE to see a bigger stack open to 12k because they will have to instacall your all-in with a wide range of hands that you crush. Taking a high probability of doubling up here is worth way more than passing up on this spot; it's way too likely that you have the best hand.

Furthermore, I don't think anyone in the world is good enough to put their opponent on EXACTLY AA based on just a standard-sized pre-flop open.

When people talk about folding KK preflop, it is like the first level of the WSOP with 10K stacks and 25/50 blinds.

Is this going to be one of those threads that gets 80 responses but only really needed one?

edit: I hope so.

Can you give specifics on how to look into someone elses soul? Is there a download somewhere?
