Default How many of you started as online gamers?

I know that personally I began my online competitive nature playing counter-strike, a first person shooter, in leagues and on LANs. Eventually I grew tired of that scene and noticed the explosion of online poker, got into that, and that was that. Now it seems like more and more everyday I'm running into other people who played CS, or Quake, or some other form of online game, and discovered that poker was a game which they could enjoy and become good at. I've even seen a lot of the phrases and so forth recycled (LOLNOOB has it's roots deeply entrenched into the online FPS world). So, did you used to, or do you still game online?

I used to play D2 LOD back in the day when I was like 15-17. I never really got into any of the other big online games. I also used to play MTG way back in the day (5th edition times). I don't play either anymore though, just online poker. It is pretty funny how I have noticed the word "noob" popping up in the lower limit rooms though.

I used to play UO and every C&C game that came out. I dabbled in UT a bit as well.

I played some, never competatively though.

Was playing Everquest when I decided to give online poker a try back in 2003.

On a side ntoe of the above, the scary thing is, my longest online poker session is no where near the length of some of my EQ sessions...
