Default Bubble in a satellite

OK, i am the extreme short stack in a stars 500FPP sat to the $215. 10 players left 9 spots pay and i am in 10th place.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t1200 (5 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

Button (t42690)
SB (t6712)
Hero (t4090)
UTG (t21232)
MP (t36619)

Preflop: Hero is BB with A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
<font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, <font color="#CC3333">MP raises to t2400</font>, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, <font color="#CC3333">SB raises ALLIN to t6637</font>

The guy who pushed all in has been playing very straight up. The only hands I can put him on there in my mind is AA or KK, i dont think he pushes there with anything less with me as a really short stack in the BB.

What should have i have done? The player was all in, he loses i win a seat.

This is a fold unless you have QQ+. Satellite bubbles have the biggest Gap Concept possible in MTTs.

This wasn't tough at all, it's a clear fold.

I agree this should be a fold with no question.

Definitely. MP will almost certainly call the all-in, this may be your chance to sneak in. Obviously you're going to have a hard time recovering if you give up on this hand, but your chances of getting a spot are probably better by folding here and hoping the other guy gets knocked out than calling and trying to survive a 3-way pot with AQo.

my big concern was that i am left with with 2890 after the hand and I have to post a 600 SB. Doesn't my extreme shortstack make this a little less clear on the fold?

I would fold this in any kind of poker tournament, not just a sat.

No. It's not that much worse to try and recover from 4k than 3k, you're in bad shape either way.

Look at it this way.

If you fold....

You have 3k and, let's say, a 30% chance of sealing your seat right away if the other shortie loses the all-in, and 30% chance of getting a seat if you have to recover from 3k.

If you call...

Let's say you have 33% equity (which is probably generous, I doubt you have that much).
You have a 33% chance of getting a seat
And a 66% chance of not getting a seat
