Vienna. Yes or No

DrG and I are going to be in europe this summer. I'll be working in Switzerland, and then traveling around the country with an excursion to Tuscany to see DrG and possibly go to Vienna.

To those who have been there- it would be an overnight train ride both ways (as best) for me, but it sounds like a pretty pimp locale. Worth it?

I voted "No," because I think other cities within the same distance of Switzerland are more worth visiting. Its not a bad city, though, and I'd be shocked if this was the top of your cut list.

Last year i visited paris/rome/nice/barcelona.

This time i was planning on just seeing a lot of switzerland, as i am half swiss and have family spread out all over. Vienna seemed like a nice city nearby.

I voted no because the name always makes me think of vienna sausages. I hate those things.

no. austrians are the most horrible people in the world.

go to ljubljana instead. it's not much further, and it's quite possibly the nicest city in the world.

I'm biased because I lived there for a short while, but I'd much much rather visit Bavaria than Vienna.

actually I love the wienerschnitzel. Schnitzel actually has nothing to do with sausage. It's a piece of meat that's pounded flat. Only in america do people think a schnitzel is a sausage...Then again a vienna sausage isn't really a sausage either. hmmmmm....

?? vienna sausage has as much to do with wienerschnitzel as LA does with Anaheim. At least Anaheim has a hockey team!

I'm biased because I dislike Italian as a language.

However, vienna is a VVV good city.
