Default Ace /junk....stealing and defending

I play mostly 2/4 and 3/6 (6 max) limit. I wanted to inquire what your general feelings are about stealing from the button w/ Ace/junk and defending the big blind with it.
Lets assume, you have no read on the player stealing, or on Big Blind defending (obviously, if defender defends loosely, Ax goes up in value, etc). But if you have no read on the player, whats your general rule, or opinion of the value of the hand. I feel I have a pretty good handle on the game, but often times feel unsure about how to play (if at all) this hand, especially in aggressive games. Thanks.

I think you're ahead of most people's range with any decent A, especially suited. Every once in a while I fold A2o-A4o in the BB, but not often. Basically, these hands benefit from their decent showdown value, which is big in heads-up matches.

I dump a lot of lower aces from the blinds and 3bet the rest.

I agree. If you're going to play Ax from the blinds, do it with initiative, otherwise not at all.

People are stealing with everything these days. I never fold Ax against a button open-raise.

If you never fold, do you call or 3bet? How high is your kicker before you 3bet?

I would love if anyone posted some button steal/BB defend with UI Ax. I feel like I am misplaying it postflop frequently.

One of my problems iwth defending with ace/rag is that I find myself folding down the line unimproved. Usually I save myself the trouble and fold ace rag to a raise from a non-steal position. Against potential steals (button, primarily) i may fold it from time to time, but I'll usually at least take a flop and see what goes down. I don't three bet too often, which is almost assuredly a leak.

I 3bet from A8o I think. Depends on my guts that day.

I don't know if this is correct or wrong. Blindbattles are one of my weakest aspects of poker.
