they take many precautions to avoid these accusations. i havent heard of anything that would come close to being able to be accused of entrapment.

Since Pedophile Pete has to initiate contact or at least be looking for that type of contact either via the Internet or some other medium, I highly doubt entrapment is a valid defense.

I saw a thing where a guy who pretends to a be a 14 yr old girl messages guys, and after they chat it up over time, they meet up... and bust.

I can understand how it's not entrapment if the sexual preadtor is the one who initiates meeting up, but I was under the impression that the cops initiate it sometimes as well.
