So I make a standard resteal attempt from SB over a solid, aggressive LP raiser with a pretty good hand...

Then the BB cold calls... pretty quick, as if he had "autocall" clicked. I've only been at the table a couple orbits and he hasn't really been out of line.

Then of course I hit top pair, and the pot is about equivalent to my stack at this point....

WTF do I do here......?

I'm betting out, I think you have way the best here. I would think he has AK or even AQ, maybe 99-QQ, the hand that beats you that is most likely going to show is QQ maybe.

i would have just pushed flop, but i'm not folding now. people call two cold on partypoker with much worse than JJ+.

why bet out?

If we check BB is going to bet here a whole lot of the time, way more often than he'll be calling our bet (which pretty much is a push, unless we make some kinda weak lead underbet which maybe wouldnt be so bad)

Well considering I have no read on player, the read I'm putting on him by calling 2 cold is that he is likely a weak player, so if he does have AK/AQ I would think he is checking behind in most cases or maybe even 99/TT. I don't want to see a Q or K turn nor a heart.

I wouldn't exactly be surprised if villain has QQ+ either - although the super is a tad above my league, cold calling with big pairs sometimes happen even in a possible multiway pot. Seems a bit naive not to include it in his range anyway.
