Should I purchase a 20" Dell Ultrasharp 2007FP monitor

I've heard about all the banding issues...is it still worth getting???

This is what I am thinking about purchasing...

250GB Serial ATA 3Gb/s Hard Drive

Total with tax and shipping is about a grand.

Is there anything I need/don't need. I typically play poker, watch movies and download music on my system.
