I'm starting grad school in a couple of weeks and need health insurance. What company do you recommend that is inexpensive but reliable. Also, what should I set my deductible at?

You should check with your new grad school first about the options they make available to their students. They may have a group plan you can join and/or a special student rate.

If you have a choice, and have no health problems, you should consider setting your deductible as high as they will go. This will lower your premiums (which is likely to be the only thing you pay at all). If you end up getting sick, you will have to pay more, obviously. Like I said, if you have no ongoing health care costs, then it's probably a good gamble.
