Default Good slowplay of AAA?

$200 NL Full Ring Blinds $1/$2

Hero on button with $247 and A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

Villan UTG with $152

SB posts $1, BB posts $2, UTG calls, Middle player calls, Hero raises to $12 from Button, SB folds, BB folds, UTG calls, middle player folds.

Flop ($29) 2 Players

A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]4 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

Villan checks, Hero bets $15, Villan raises to $30, Hero calls

Turn ($89) Two Players

7 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

Villan calls All in ($110)

Hero????

Is this a bad time to try and slow play a set of A's? I know there was a flush draw but against only 1 player?

Do I call the turn bet? Does he make this bet with the flush?

Umm...no.

Connected broadway cards and two spades is a little draw heavy to be slowplaying and villian seems to like his hand.

You have to call his push on the turn. And his bet proves why slow-playing the flop is awful. You may have let him buy a flush cheaply or represent it with a hand you are crushing (like AJ or JJ).

You post no reads of the villain, so against an unknown...

I'd go ahead and reraise him here on the flop. As played, I don't think he is min-raising on a flush draw, more likely 44 so I'd call. Even if he has the flush, you has oots.

Your play is fine with position even if I 3-bet most of the time, OOP I definitely prefer a flop 3-bet. Call turn for sure.

Only broadway draws are gutshots. Do you think he min- raises on a gut shot. I figure the only real draw here is the flush draw. In a multi-way pot I push this hand real hard, but against one person I figure the chance he is on a flush draw is much less. I can see a lot of other hands he could possibly be playing here than just a draw.

I call. You will often see a smaller set/2-pair and the rare but occassional bluff here. Even if he has a flush, you have lots of outs.

A lot of time donkey villans will min raise on the flop with a flush draw to try and get a free card on the turn. If he is going to open up the betting against your set of aces, make him regret it. I'd make it $75, pushing lets him off the hook if he has a bad ace.

A raise to 75 is somewhat more scary to a weak ace than a push too many players.
