I've never played at any of these places. If you know how many tables each has can you indicate it?

I don't think that Paris Hilton and Hooters should ever be in the same list.

Poker rooms aren't going to close. They've become the modern loss leader without the loss.

People who come to Las Vegas now expect a poker room in every casino. If you don't have a poker room, you run the risk of a significant % of gamblers not coming to your casino to play any games.

This is likely correct at least for now. The rooms listed don't have that many tables and the casinos involved can cover the costs to keep their casinos competitive.

I agree with both posters. Any self-respecting Vegas Casino has to spread poker these days.

3 or 4 tables is such a minor part of the overal operation that the negative publicity that closing them would attract just isn't worth it.

A better question would be how many 40-table rooms the strip can support. Venetian has made a slow start and the Wynn is feeling the squeeze at the moment.

The WSOP will give every card room a big boost, but it will be interesting to see how the traffic levels look in the fall.

Right now the big rooms on the Strip are the Bellagio, Mirage, Wynn, MGM Grand, Caesars Palace, Venetian, and Excalibur (everyone always forgets the Excalibur). They all have at least 20 tables and, in some cases, more than 30. Caesars Palace also has that 30+ table tournament room.

I don't see any of them being closed or reduced in size over the next year or so. And, it's hard to envision the Bellagio, Wynn, or Caesars Palace (because it's owned by Harrahs) ever closing.
