Default I found the most depressing game in Vegas

Today, I was playing 4-8 Omaha/8 at The Orleans and I couldn't believe how depressing people these people were. It seemed everyone at the table was complaining about something literally after EVERY HAND!!! You could tell the dealers were getting irrated, but kept their composure and were professional throughout every "dispute" I commend them for that. I guess when you deal with grumpy locals all day..it becomes second nature to here these people complain all the time!!

On the side note, these were pretty good games....I couldn't get a hand and lost a small amount. For that I will continue give them my Omaha Action..I just make sure I bring my iPod to drown out all the grumpiness!!

That does look like an annoying game to sit in. There was one day I was playing 2/4 at a table right next the Must Move O/8 game (at the Orleans), and in the space of about 90 minutes, the floor came over to settle a major argument at least four times.

Alot of the low limit Omaha/8 games in Atlantic City are they same way. They're full of old, angry locals who do nothing but complain. I had two people leave the game after I raised pre-flop, and lets not get started at how mad they get if you try to check-raise. Thankfully I was getting great cards and had a great time until the game broke and I went back to Hold'em.

O/8 players seem to grumpy by nature. Get regulars together and they feed off of each other. The good part of playing at a place like the Orleans is that you'll be gone in a couple of days and can tease and laugh at them all you like which is what I do if they start to get on me when I'm there.

Did you notice, btw, that the Orleans has dramatically raised their rake? They used to be the cheapest rake room that I knew of with the rake being 5% to $3.00 I was there a couple of weeks ago and it's now 10% to $3.00 and they still use the quarters so a pot of $25.00 will be raked $2.50 as opposed to the old $1.25. Quite a difference.

What a surprise, it hasn't changed in the 2 1/2 yrs since I worked there. I called it "Oh my hell" These people were horrible! They are the reason I quit.

And you know they're bad when she only has to deal them one down per shift. I've had the same experience with the small O8 game in my casino: Resorts, Gary IN.

Nope. Blackjack dealers can get more than 15 hands/hour out.

If it's $3 max, I bet it's still the cheapest room that you know of.

All O8 games are horrible. When I played the game at the Mirage I found the nittyness and obnoxiousness amusing for a while, but it soon wore off. The game was crap as well.
