Terrible calls!!

Not only you're drawing to a non nut flush, but you also have NO chance at low!

All you're doing is drawing to a flush that you're not certain it's going to win if you hit. And if you do hit, all you get is half the pot.

With nut flush draw and 3 or more players in the pot, it would be ok to call these bets.

The thing is, when you have a hand like A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 10 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] , you are looking for a board with high cards and nothing else (maybe one low).

The board of 2 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 4 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 5 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] in that case is like having A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] in hold'em against 4 players and a flop of 9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 10 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

Remember Omaha 8 is meant to be played after the flop, so you really want a flop that helps your hand.

Flops you are looking for with that hand are flops like:

A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

8 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 10 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 2 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

7 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 2 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

Notice how those flops look BEAUTIFUL combined with your hand?

With those flops you have so many outs and so much chance of winning the whole pot, THAT is what you're looking for.

I included A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 2 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] because not only it assures you that you're drawing to a nut flush, but it's very possible that someone's low got counterfeited! They would need 3-4 or 3-5 in order to keep chasing.

So I played this bad? JK.
I definately need to quit playing so many tables so I dont do things like this out of reflex due to so much short LHE.
point taken.

Also remember that when a flop comes with all "low" cards, you need to back off a bit as you have minimal chance of scooping most of the time (not talking specifically of this hand where you have ZERO chance). It would be like chasing a straight in Holdem with a three flush on board. Not wise. Live and learn.

IMALLIN, your best bet is to move up in limits. The King-high flush is rarely if ever good at the lower limits. But I assure you that if you sit down at my 10/20 and 15/30 games, your King-high flush will be a great drawing hand on an all-low flop.

Please let me know when you plan to play, I'll be sure to have a seat to your left so I can assist you with betting the hand so we can build a big pot for you to win half of!
