Default Confession of a Programmer

this is something another guy said.

I'm a computer programmer, I write gaming software (though not poker software). Is online poker rigged? Here's a confession. I've never completed a computer gaming program -from slot machines to virtual horse racing betting - that doesn't protect the company. Here's an even bigger confession....I've also on occasions created conditions that will produce certain results on command. Is online poker rigged? You're being conned every time you bet.

scary huh!?

I'm a also a programmer and I'm 99% sure that the programmers for these poker sites don't have any certain conditions that produce results on command. The reason I say this is the poker companies know programmers can easily do this so I'm sure they have many levels of code review going on before the software is released (Then again, Party has so many bugs with each release maybe they don't). The last group to review the code probably wouldn't do anything either because they would be caught by the low level programmers. It's a nice system of checks and balances.

I believe this only because it comes from an extremely credible soure.

-Nobody knows you
-You don't mention the computer programmer's name
- Or his area
- Or how long he's been doing it
- Or where you heard it

You are dumb.

Make sure it's surrounded by "monsters" so the kids can't go see the real world.

You nailed it. This is the exact reason it isn't rigged.
