4/8 live
Villian plays pretty well post flop, though he probably folds too much. He likes to make big laydowns. He sees me as tight--perhaps weak/tight. Villian opens in EP, two callers, I call in the CO K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], "Mr. any two" calls on button, SB calls and is all in, BB calls. Flop: 99T with one club UTG bets, call, I call, rest fold. Turn: 8 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Hero notes that SB doesn't like her hand. UTG bets, fold, hero raises... |

Looks good to me. If SB is like most ss live players, then her all-in call means exactly nothing and could literally be two cards. If EP likes to make big laydowns, then this super-scary board gives him lots reasons to (you play looks like a lot like a turned straight or a slowplayed 9).
Even if he won't lay down an overpair here, it's worth it for the times you get him to lay down a big A. Plus you've got like 15 outs so if he calls you will still go on to win the pot a lot of times. |

I would have raised the flop and bet the turn.

I would have raised the flop in hopes of seeing the turn and the river for free. Might lose some value on this play due to the all-in, Any thoughts on this?

Let me clarrify: by "weak tight" I mean villian probably doesn't think me capable of raising a big street without a monster. I suppose "weak TAG" would be a better way to put it. If I raise the flop he'll put me on a flush draw, OESD, or any pair (including trips).

i'm gone on the flop. some of my outs are maybe dirty and another thing i detest is drawing dead. but, let's say i was feeling lucky and called. absolutely nothing wrong (in theory) with the semi-bluff raise. in reality, i don't think it folds people enough in actual practice to warrant its use except on very rare occasions. probably, the number one mistake of lower limit players is their general incapacity to fold.....

If villain plays well post flop why would he be bluffing a dry side pot 7 way?
Hope you caught... |

The point is that this hand is going to be shown down and on the turn the best hand Hero can beat is K7.
I wouldn't look to happy either if I was in the sb with 66 but I'm gonna drag the main pot if the best hand folds and Hero doesn't catch. No point trying to take the lead unless you know you have the sb beat and are behind the bettor, which isn't the case here. |
