My Report on the Security of Online Poker
http://www.geocities.com/xenod/
Click on the "Here It Is" link I posted a couple times in the last couple of weeks asking for information, so I figured I'd put the final product up. To be honest, I couldn't really use the info about Pro Poker and ZeeJustin because there wasn't any really good documentation about it. Since I play, the conclusion is fairly obvious, but my inability to use the info I got here on the forums emphasizes something that the online poker community lacks: a reputable, unbiased, news source. Very few stories make it into the mainstream media, and from what I've seen Cardplayer doesn't really cover the day to day goings on of online poker, and even if they did, they get a lot of advertising revenue from the sites themselves, jeapordizing their objectivity. At 20 pages it's the longest thing I've ever written, so I figured I might as well put it out there for anyone who is interested in reading it. |

Re: My Report on the Security of Online Poker
Just curious but why did you decide to do all the research/write the report?

Re: My Report on the Security of Online Poker
Had to write a 20-page paper for a seminar/class I'm in about the Social and Technical foundations of the Internet. I figured I might as well write about something I was very interested in.

Thanks for sharing. I'm going to take a look at this since it's a topic that's of interest to all of us.

Re: My Report on the Security of Online Poker
This would be an excellent submission for the 2+2 Magazine. Thanks for sharing your work.
I just start reading the Internet portion of this forum and really enjoy learning about issues of background/history. Submissions like yours really help the guys like me who just crawled out from our live play only cave and are making the adjustment to online play. |
