Scary Turn against a \'Calling Station\' (200NL 6Max)
Not a bad beat post! Just represents a type of hand I’m having problems with. Flop brings me a very strong hand against an opponent with lose staring values. I make a continuation bet & get called. This call means little to me b/c that is what this type of players does. However, the scare card on the turn bothers me & I have no idea what to do?
I bet b/c I think a check is worse. My reason for the bet is 3 fold… 1) Player could have called w/ 'anything' (ie. 2nd pair, Ax, Qx etc.) 2) Don’t want to let any either flush draw see river for free 3) Have nut outs What is the play? Is this an easy check/fold? Any ideas about this hand or can you post something similar? i think its better so set him in, rather have him push you off your hand with a scare card.... [censored] situation though..

[ QUOTE ]
Is this an easy check/fold? [/ QUOTE ] HAHAHA I can' think of any read that would make this a check/fold. Although there are a few against whom it would be a check call. Almost always a really easy push, though. How the hell are you gonna put him on a J? |

Re: Scary Turn against a \'Calling Station\' (200NL 6Max)
Get money in on turn. He wont give you credit for straight and is as likely to look you up as to bet.
Also, if he has straight, you are still only slightly worse than 3 to 1 dog, you're getting 2 to 1 for money. If stacks were deeper, thered be some decisions. |
