Default 3-6-12 questions

I've mainly played online but I've been checking into the live casino poker rooms in SW Louisiana. The lower limit that they play has a 3-6-12 betting structure. I went up to the Isle of Capri in Lake Charles to check out their room and watch a very short time. I have a few questions about the betting structure. I know the blinds are $1 and $3. The pre-flop and flop bets appear to be just $3. But what are the allowed range of bets on the turn and the river?

The play at the table seemed very loose with a lot of people seeing the flop and a lot of people chasing straight and flush draws. What type of strategy adjustments do you need to make for such a betting structures as opposed to what you do with the normal two bet structure? From what I saw, it wasn't a game where TPTK would win very much of the time.

Thanks for any replies,
Doc

I would suggest that you play a tight game, and value bet your good hands. They will sometimes suck out on you, but will mostly pay you off.

I play a game of either bet, raise,or fold. No checking.

From what I remember playing there, you can bet 6 on the turn, and 6 or 12 on the river.

the 3-6-12 game is super loose. and yeah it's 3 pf 3 flop, 6 turn and 6 or 12 on the river. it's counter intuitive but 6 gets a fold and 12 a call from most ppl there. playing tight will get you nowhere. open up your game and have fun. any pocket pair, suited ace, and connecters (esp suited)are worth it a call pf. there are normally 7 ppl to a flop and a pf raise is considered a pot builder and will get more calls than a limp up front.

when were you there? i had heard that the isle and harrahs got washed up during rita.....

Went by the Isle to check things out this past Tuesday. The Isle is back in full operation. Harrah's is still closed. They reported that they may take two years to get back in operation. I've heard a rumor that they are looking at land near the Port of Lake Charles near the L'auberge du Lac and might build a new casino similar to what L'auberge has.
