Default WSOP Step #5

disclaimer: i dont play tournies, this might be retarted, ok...

4 left, 1st gets package, 2-3 get rebuy to step #5, 4 gets sent to step #4:
UTG: t4405
BUTTON -ME-: t5980
SB: t2465
BB: t7150

UTG folds, Hero-A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] raises to 600, SB folds, BB calls.

Flop: Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

BB checks, I bet 600, BB checkraises to 1800, I move in for 3630 more on top.

In a normal payout structure I don't think I make this move ever, but I saw 3700 chips in the pot and figured that an all in would fold everything but a king, and increase my chances of taking the whole thing down versus coming in 2nd or 3rd.

This hand that villain played earlier also affected my decision: with 6 left, villain is going against the other big stack at the time, villain minraises from the SB, other guy calls. Villain check, calls 200 on JJ6 flop, then CRs on 8 turn from 275 to 750.

Seemed to me he was pressuring the other big stack, but maybe not.

So anyways, obviously I lost, I just want to know if I'm actually folding a lot of villain's hands here, and if the play is marginally bad or really bad.

if you're gonna pull that sort of [censored], don't do it against the only other play who can bust ya.

Blinds are 100/200? I wouldn't pull this. There is a pseudo-bubble for looping back to step 4 and a shorty. You've got a healthy stack in second position and plenty of time. Why pull this crap with no hand/no draw?

yeah........i knew that. i usually think the opposite way though, cuz in cash games, he is deeper so he can fold.

so its bad, how often does he have a K here? or a hand that calls?

with the idea of a 1-winner package and 2 people getting to play step 5 again, theres little reason to do this, as there are multiple bubbles essentially...one bubble to get back to step 5 and one bubble (heads up) for the WSOP. essentially, hes not going to make this play with worse cards, and you will have plenty of stealing opportunities with your big stack after. i dont recommend this play after he flat calls PF and raises your flop bet, clear fold with this line imo.

I'd guess Q (AQ maybe?) or pocket pair before K.

My thoughts exactly. I don't think this move is going to make him fold anything except a bluff, or possibly a medium pocket pair. Both are unlikely.

Terrible, for all the reasons mentioned by the others.
