Default some fast food homework for oot

locate a chick-fil-a

http://www.chick-fil-a.com/cfa.asp

order a delicious sandwich

fried chick-fil-a sandwich. wheat. now, you may find this controversial. i understand. normally i will eat wheat if it's almost as good just because it's healthier. sometimes it is close to whatever standard bread a place uses, sometimes it isn't. in this case it is actually superior to the white bread. deluxe - this adds high-quality romaine lettuce and tomato. double extra pickles. pickles on a chicken sandwich? yes. shut up. this is how it is supposed to be eaten, they always give you pickles with it but you want MORE. add a packet of mayo (or lite mayo) and you're good to go.

cfa + wheat + deluxe + pickle + pickle.

enjoy a delicious sandwich

marvel at the fact that it is under 500 calories with mayo, and note how much better it is than every other chicken sandwich. yes, even wendy's. no, it's not close.

optional additions

the waffle fries aren't as good as they look/sound, but they're still okay. strips or nuggets are better. they've got 5 different sauces: buffalo, ranch, polynesian, honey mustard, and bbq. this is a good way to give them a twirl. i have heard decent things about the cheesecake as well, but ultimately it's about the sandwich. whatever else you enjoy there is a great bonus.

Dude you are forgetting the new Honey-roasted BBQ sauce! It comes with the grilled sandwich I think but you can ask for it... it is $$$.

I [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img][img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img][img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] CFA.

P.S. I know they are resting on the 7th day or whatever but seriously, open on Sundays. I would eat breakfast there every Sunday if they did.

I tend to go for the grilled option at Chick-Fil-A. It comes on the wheat, with lettuce, tomato, pickle and the barbeque sauce that tpir mentioned. Pretty tasty, though it definitely caters to a different niche than, say, the Wendy's Spicy Chicken. Perhaps I'll try the fried sandwich next time.

Chick-fil-a is great. I am going to miss it moving out west, but I believe they are expanding out there.

I love the grilled chicken sandwich. It it freshly cut chicken, great tasting, and did I mention fresh? I could do without the fries, they aren't that great. But they have a distinct taste being fried in peanut oil (chick-fil-a's secret btw...)

WTF, Chick-fil-a fries are the best fast food fry by a mile, I don't think I've ever had a bad batch. F*ck Micky Ds.

You also forgot to mention that if you get the combo to swap coleslaw for carrot raisin salad.

No Chik-fil-a's here in MN, except at the student union at the U of M and the stuff tastes like it was cooked in Arizona and then reheated here. But thats probably because its not a true version.

Yeah these bastards need to move out west. I rememebr the firast time I saw a Chick-Fil-A in Atlanta. I was confused because it was in a mall and it was closed on a Sunday. I also pronounced the name "Chick-Fill-Uh" (the crafty wording tricked me!). My southern friends gave me crap for that one.

Sorry for the slight hi-jack, but...
I really don't understand why some of these places don't venture out of their "territories"?? We have nothing like White Castle or Crystals out west. Wouldn't you think one of them would venture into California? Chick-Fil-A would do good except for the whole closing on sunday business. I know east coasters don't have In & Out burger which I also think is completely insane because that chain could take over the world if they wanted to (and if they got those got-damn scriptures off the boottoms of the cups).

tpir,
i will check out the new sauce.

gumpzilla,
no "perhaps". try the fried sandwich!

nottom,
i don't dislike the fries, but i have had waffle fries at bowling alleys that blow cfa's away. i'm not into mcd's fries. my favorite kind is from a local chain called "lion's choice".

patton,
i think the in-n-out people may not want the hassle of growing and might be satisfied with the money the have already. the fact that they have no freezers/frozen food is problematic for wide distribution as well, because it would likely involve different ingredients from region to region. i think cfa is in expansion mode though. i have to go to a mall to eat there, but they're about to start putting up standalone stores in st louis.

I just did! The other day when exiting the 605 freeway to hit the Hawaiian Gardens Casino I noticed a busy looking new food place between the already great In and Out Burger and my favorite 26-plex movie complex. Didn't know what it was at the time but per the sub-link of "recent openings" it's a chick-fil-a!

It just so happens that Thursday I'll be swinging by. Your sandwich sounds great - not sure abut the extra pickles though.

Never knew that a Wendy's chicken sandwich was any good but if memory serves, eliminating mayo from a sandwich saves another 100 or so calories (this was per a Burger King wall chart identifying the calorie count of a whopper with cheese. Normally about 720 calories, hold the cheese and mayo type topping and it goes to about 440 calories).
