How were you affected by “a day without immigrants”?
There are at least 2 other threads about whether it was justified, or needed, etc. Please keep those arguments there.
I’m curious about how you were personally affected by yesterdays boycott. Not emotionally, but practically. They said they wanted to "show America that we need them as much as they need us." So, how did they do from your personal experience, or your personal observations? I’m not asking about what you saw on tv when they showed a company shut down... unless of coarse, you work for that company. Myself... I saw a manager bussing tables at Bob Evans. My lunch at McDonald’s went just fine. No effect there, that I could tell. There seemed to be less traffic, which was nice... but that might have just been all in my head, since I was looking to observe things. |

Re: How were you affected by “a day without immigrants”?
Honestly, I had completely forgotten about it till I logged onto 2+2 and saw the threads, I noticed absolutely zero impact on my daily life, although, come to think of it, traffic was a bit lighter than normal, probably a good thing for gas prices and the environment. I think the illegals should go on strike every day to prove their point, that'll sure show us.

I didn't notice anything, but there really isn't much of an immigrant population in DC. I imagine that in place like LA and Phoenix it was really felt.

Traffic was lighter, so I saw it as a good thing. It's like a federal holiday that I don't get off.
