Default Omaha Steaks: Worth it?

Omaha Steaks. Has anybody tried these? Are they enough better than regular grocery store steaks (at the same price) that they are worth buying? Also, any recommendations on which steaks should be bought will be good.

Meh, ive only tried them a handful of times, becuase my grandma orders them for me every christmas, but I dont think they are much better than anythign from a butcher shop. I dont know how much price difference there is though. They ARE very convenient if you live alone though. indiviually frozen packs rule.

My bad. I don't see how to edit the poll, though. If you tell me how, I'll do it.

They are a fine deal if you order when they have a special and free shipping, otherwise, not really worth it. I think the meats are fine, but I'd rather just get it from the butcher myself.

wad,

I haven't gotten these in a long time, but I remember back years ago they used to sometimes have deals where they gave you all sorts of free stuff and it seemed like a pretty good deal, but without the coupons/specials it was about double the price and seemed too expensive.

I'm from Omaha, I used to work in their call center when I was 16 or 17. The markup is sick, they're not worth it (im most cases.) Yeah, they are really good, but if you can find a good butcher (in Omaha there are a few) you can get the same quality meat for a lot less money. I don't know how easy it is to get comparable quality steaks in other parts of the country, so I might be wrong.

Also, their burgers are very good and I don't think they're too pricy.

I used to date a girl whose family would buy them and eat them ultra-well done with ketchup. I'd recommend against that as well.

They're really only good for sending as a gift. Just find an above average butcher somewhere nearby, and you'll be extremely satisfied. I never buy steaks from the grocery store.
