Re: TP, Villain checks turn, pots river.
Eh, I probably fold PF. And then with his raise on the flop, I almost defintely let it go there.

Re: TP, Villain checks turn, pots river.
I play AK the same way villain did (larger flop raise though) quite often and and almost always get paid off by a weaker A.
I fold AQ here preflop. Against an unknown, I give him a default reraising range of QQ-AA and AK, all of which have you dominated. I raise more on flop (16-18) and if he still comes over the top fold. AS played I fold river |

Re: TP, Villain checks turn, pots river.
I fold every street when you were raised and the river.
I think this is a good spotto practice some pot control. Check the flop. Check the turn and call a smallish river bet. |

[/ QUOTE ] I agree 100% with pot control here, but I think you are getting to see a free river almost never with that weak flop bet. Thats why I like a larger bet on the flop. It makes the rest of the hand much easier. If you are flat called then you might be able to check it down/call a small river bet, and if you are raised you drop it. |

I usually check flop. Probably call the river. [/ QUOTE ] can you explain? why are you calling the reraise preflop if you are going to check when you hit TP? |

Re: TP, Villain checks turn, pots river.
Cause if he has a mid-high pp he hates this flop. But they will sometimes bluff it. You usually aren't getting too much value by betting this flop.

Re: TP, Villain checks turn, pots river.
ah, good point. didnt think of it this way. i've probably been losing a good bit of money by pushing those pairs off drawless boards when I hit.
my point still stands preflop though. the big pairs wont pay if an A hits, and youre screwed when the flop comes Q high. - fold |
