Default Naming a female dog; need help

So my friend got this little black puppy today and we have been trying to name it for the past hour or so. Haven't found anything we like yet. Spade or Spades was a suggestion though. Ideas?

Yelling out, "Hey Spade" in some neighborhoods might not be a good idea.

That's a derogatory term for a black person? The dog is a black lab by the way.

I really like Italian musical terms.

Brio -- happy, upbeat, quick
Forte -- strong
Others I forget

Hawaiian:

Menehune -- mischevious leprechaun like creatures -- good for spunky things. Will stop your car on the Old Pali Road until you throw out some pork.
Moke -- bully, good for tough dogs
Haole -- white or foreign -- good for white animals
Akamai -- smart
Da Kine -- something you don't really have a word for or care to

Cartoon:

Mowgli -- cub with the wrong species, from The Jungle Book
O'Malley -- the Alley Cat, from The Aristocrats
Balloo -- bear from The Jungle Book
Tramp -- guess the Disney
Droopy -- sign up your local basset hound with this one

I'm a big fan of cartoon names. If your dog has any personality at all, I bet you could find a great cartoon name that you'll enjoy using for her, and that will bring a smile to others.

You don't want to use spade, then. Call it something less provocative, like "Welfare."

CA. It's probably an age thing though. Grew up in the 70s when racist language was much more commonly used in every day speech.
