this is very far from just a numbers question. pokerstove cannot answer whether or not this is a good call.

I wouldn't put too much stock into post beat rants, they don't really refelct someone's more reasoned opinions. Honestly I'd be highly, highly surprised if I went digging enough in PT that I couldn't find SCSN/BLD making basically the squeeze/semi bluff move frequently. If you ran into a set, so be it but when you play your own sets this way, they'll now have to consider calling, knowing you could be on a semi bluff.

As played, I like the flop raise, I think the ammount is about right since a flush draw is out of the picture and I think the ammount screams set most of the time so you're putting maximum pressure on AA,-AQ hands and any mid high pairs like JJ and 10-10 that SheCan'tSayNo might be possibly calling light with.

In fact, the reason I'm posting the hand is because he's such a good player and he's questioning the play.

odawg09090 you are underestimating how godly BldSwtTrs really is.

Even his post beat rants are calculated and +EV.

OP: I like just a call on the flop but the line you took is fine. Although I think call>push>raise. Also fold preflop because:

Suited connectors are way way way way way way overrated.
