Yep, the weak-tight games may be beatable, but lower limit tables are a waste of time without added incentives. The games suck for earning FPPs, and without FPPs I can't clear my bonus or redeem for a pair of hooded sweatpants from the store.

For about 15 minutes last night while playing a few tables of NLHE25, I thought I was never going to see another FPP. And I'm willing to play PLO or O8, but those games looked just as comatose.

NL will always be profitable because of two things that go hand in hand: 'fancy plays' and tilt. Limit will die because your only real edge is in your cards and then the very marginal postflop differences between non-idiot players. Not to mention that even if you are a solid winner, the swings are nutso.

One mistake can lead to a stackoff. Otherwise the games would be as near unbeatable as limit has become on most sites these days. If Ongame can have weak tight nutpeddling limit games than any all sites will have them... The 1/2-3/6 limit holdem games are difficult to beat, because they are filling with tight ABC multitablers. This style can be beaten, but it is hard to make a significant profit with the rake.

NL games, games other than holdem, STTs and MTTs do not have this problem to the same degree. Also, higher stakes limit holdem games are certainly fairly tough, but beatable.

It's kind of amazing how bad the average limit player used to be, which made the game so profitable despite the giant rake in card rooms.

If you're a SuperNova, the "rakeback" you're getting in these low limit games is HUGE (.5/1 and 1/2 is what I have experience with). To the point where it is very close to a zero-sum game. In such a game, Ill take a flop percentage of 20% anyday.

I've often wondered how stars allows people to get so much of their rake back, but I guess there are so few people at the SN level it doesnt really hurt them.
