sorry, didn't catch the recent one, just remembered the one from last year and lots of those extensions are obsolete now.

How do you get it to do this? imdb search is not one of the options (I feel like this'll be something simple and I'll feel dumb for not thinking of it, but hey)

It works with any installed search engines, so you'll have to install an IMDB one first. Here are some common search engines including IMDB:
