guitar players are not going to grow JUST their pinky nail, that would be nearly useless. 99% seems like a good estimate to me.

long pinky nails are cokeheads almost always
if you see a long thumb nail then its probably a coke dealer since the thumb works good for cutting

as far as asians are concerned (more particularly, chinese), the real reason is as follows: they grow the pinkie nail only if their pinkie does not go past the second digit of their ring fingers. this is because it is essential for one's pinkie to be longer than the second digit of the ring finger, in order to repel (or otherwise invalidate teh influences of) evil people. both of my brother in laws do this, and when i asked, this is the answer i was given. if they were coke heads, i'd know, as i see them often, so i believe them. also, my wife corroborates this version. why, on the other hand, having a short pinkie would allow evil people to mess with you, noone has yet been able to explain to me.
