Re: nut-straight draw on monotone board
I would not have bet the flop since it was four handed and all your likely to do is reduce the field because you're probably not going to get three folds and anyone that sticks around probable has you beat since they're probably sticking around with any two cards above jacks (all tie you or beat you so you're not winning here) also I would say all pocket pairs would probably stick around that are 66 and up and obviously any jack isnt going anywhere. On the turn you hit kings with a queen kicker so I see no reason to check this turn. I would come out betting and if someone raised I would just call. Going to the river with out betting the turn was really bad for you because you have no information about your opponents hands. So to answer your question not betting the turn was defineatly a mistake. I'm not sure about my plan after the flop but maybe someone with a bit more experience can critique it

Re: nut-straight draw on monotone board
[ QUOTE ]
That's a good point. We are calling anyway so we can just as well bet. [/ QUOTE ] Would you call two bets cold? If you bet and get raised, you're putting in two bets when a check-call would only put in one. [ QUOTE ] Like Aaron said: we *MIGHT* be the best here on the flop. A 10% chance of that takes it to EV+land. [/ QUOTE ] I said what? |

You said that "You're not too likely to have the best hand, there are tons of draws, and you're OOP.", which implies some small chance. |
