Do any of you have any specific details or scientific facts to back up why being high affects ur game with a negative connotation?
I dont remember the last time I didnt play high. played a lot of heads up matches a few months ago various ranges, really got a feel for it and know exactly what you are talking about. I think u only notice it more in heads up, but it really affects ur game in mtts , sngs, etc too. Theres just less hands based on instinct and bluffs alone so u dont analyze quite as much.

i doubt it has anything to do with your analytical abilities. but being stoned may affect how well you deal with emotional swings while you're playing.

This is a pointless discussion in my opinion. Weed affects everyone and their poker game in different ways depending on a lot of factors such as personality and most important tolerance. As a daily smoker I can hardly imagine not playing high and I have noticed times where I didn't feel like I would be capable of making a certain read or decision without being high, but other times I feel like I'm playing really passively due to the weed. If I didn't smoke for a month and then got high I would probably be unable to focus as well.

If you're comfortable and confident at the limit, have a sufficient bankroll, and smoke marijuana semi-frequently I personally believe that the benefits outweigh the negatives.

Honestly though, I don't see myself making many super reads with weed.. give me some coke or adderall and we'll talk [img]/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img]

I have had go results with valium when playing big live mtts. Keeps me calm but still focused.
