nl100 AK on bad board.
villain is 18/16/4.5. i've got him on a couple of tables and he's pretty tight all around, but seems like the kind of guy that overplays top pair/overpair type hands. rest of the table is real bad, so i don't care if anyone of them tags along.

Re: nl100 AK on bad board.
Bet the turn not the river.
Why give the free card? |

Re: nl100 AK on bad board.
my thinking was that he's only got 2 outs, and there isn't much value in betting there against a utg bet/folde, not that there's much on the river either.

Re: nl100 AK on bad board.
agreed, not much value either way, I still think the first 2 streets are where its at though.
Why let (a possible) AJ, JJ? catch up. I doubt ur getting much more value regardless unless villain hits, and then ur prolly behind to 2pair/trips. |

Re: nl100 AK on bad board.
Bet 1/2 pot turn, no point in giving a free card. Sets up meta for floats in position on scary flops nicely as well. I'll usually re-raise PF.

Re: nl100 AK on bad board.
i don't think AJ is even in his range, other than AJs maybe. you're probably right though.
a couple of sidenotes: i 3bet AK 95% of the time, but i thought this was a reasonable time not to. seem decent considering the villain/table? if there was no Q on the flop, i'm obviously raising there. i thought it was pointless against this guy on that board though, because AK/AQ is probably about it for aces when he's utg. |

Re: nl100 AK on bad board.
Given your read I'd bet the turn and bet the river (maybe push if its not a [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img],Q,J,T).

Re: nl100 AK on bad board.
The table's 5 handed right? AJ and AT are definately in his range. You need to bet the turn. Im also not convinced theres any reason not to 3bet preflop.
