Re: What does your relationship with your mother mean?
I am pretty mean to my mother, at least everyone thinks/accepts it so I do as well (i dont think im mean to her). No one else has accused me of this.
In conclusion, Moms are great. |

I am not upset or riled up in the least bit, honestly, but I am kind of chuckling to myself over the fact that if you replaced "women" with "black people" this OP would have been deleted and banned faster than Paris got out of jail. I do hope you get a lot of serious replies, because I'm curious what OOTers have to say on this topic. [/ QUOTE ] The problem is there are a lot more Fluffpop's out there than Fast_Food_Knights. That's why guys look down on girls. |

Re: What does your relationship with your mother mean?
Last night I was explaining to the Boy that I've found you need to be proactive when it comes to health care. Part of this belief came from spending a lot of time in the hospital when I was young.
He replied that it was part of the reason that I can boss people around and get them to do what I want. I objected to this characterization because it seemed to make me out as a bully. "I usually ask politely for whatever we need. I don't think I'm rude." He pointed out my behavior at hotels. I'll ask politely first, but press my point if I don't get the reply I want. Basically, his Mom doesn't take any BS. So, any views on the effects of living with an assertive Mom? |

Re: What does your relationship with your mother mean?
Interesting topic to me.
My mom and I never got along especially well and I do believe it does translate into my relationships with other women no matter how hard I try to fight it. I think I am finally doing better at relationship-stuff though after thinking through such things and always trying to better myself, etc etc. Definitely better at such stuff now at 36 than I was at 22 or 27 or even as recently as 33 or 34. Although that may also be a function of simply having found a girl who works well with me and vice-versa. But I do like to give myself credit for some of the improvement at least. And my situation with my Mom is significantly improved as well. We both have been responsible for finally getting to such a point imo. |
