Unless I generated a massive amount of MGR, I'd prefer a trusted affiliate...

I thought of this too, but it is ironic that we might take a less trusted affiliate when the numbers are larger.

Good point, I don't know what I was on when I posted that. For only 3% more, you'd need to go through 1 year-ish (I think someone mentioned) before you'd "break even" with the affiliate screwing you.

Luckily for us, in general, the bigger affiliates should be able to offer higher rates. As a result, we can get both good rates as well as security.

I learned a long time ago that the cheaper product is often better.

I only deal with established and reliable affiliates. But I don't insist on the coolest website, the quickest email response, or the biggest affiliate.

Rakeback is about money. The only things that are very important are certainty of being paid and getting the very best rate. Rakeback affiliates have done many things to try and differentiate themselves. I understand why they would do this but in my view it isn't very important. If you have references and a good reputation I'll happily forego the frills in exchange for a little extra each month.

Some poker rooms have no real price competition. If there is no competition on rates then I guess I might as well shop for frills.

I have taken a few % points less to go with an affiliate that has references I trust.
