Re: nl10 JJ, spewy hand for me.
I'm unsure of this hand here also. He called preflop which means he could have like a PP (set) or suited connectors. He also may have picked up a flush draw. Eh...check/call flop + minraise turn looks like he has something stronger than an overpair. Fold.

Yeah, that's ugly. As played, I'd fold that river - chk/minraise on the river is usually a strong hand at 10NL imo. I wouldn't bet on the river there either - I think the only hand that would call your bet has a set or a straight. Maybe try check/calling the turn to see what he does and reevaluate the river.

Re: nl10 JJ, spewy hand for me.
IMO, I think betting the turn here is fine because you might get some guy calling you down w/ TP or mid-PP. I do not really think there is a good reason to believe that the five on the turn has completed most hands. I would be more worried about a set.

Re: nl10 JJ, spewy hand for me.
I'm inclined to get away from this one, especially without reads. You've showed aggresson on two streets AND you've been minraised. I'm thinking set/(maybe)straight.
IMO Overpairs usually raise the flop. |

[/ QUOTE ] Betting the turn is fine, but not thinking that 5 helped?? Are the games getting that good that villian can't call with 6-5 or A-3 here. I still see that all the time. Cody |

Cody [/ QUOTE ] Yeah maybe it helped, but I don't think that helps the majority of his range (which is extremely wide after the flop). As for 65o and A3o, tough to say he is chasing a gutshot without assuming he is worse than average. A read would definately help. |
