It really depends on the game. Zelda games, and those of similar ilk, I pretty much refuse to cheat. For most games I'm reluctant to but if I haven't figured it out in a reasonable amount of time then I will relent. The Metroid series would be a good example. Then there are other games where the secrets are so plentiful that I have no choice but to cheat at every point/follow a walkthrough. Final Fantasy VI and Super Mario World are my prime examples of this case.

I have no opinion about cheating in online play, as I've yet to play an online game.

I guess it depends on the meaning of the word "cheat."

I almost never use cheat codes. But I do shortcuts from time to time. E.g., in GTA: SA, there's a way to get a bunch of money just by going to the OTB location and betting on horses. So I spent an hour going there, betting my entire cash and, if I lost, re-loading and doing the same thing again. Went from $10,000 to well over a million. Yet, for some reason, I refused to enter cheat codes for the game.

OTOH, if I come back to a game I haven't played in a while, I'll use a cheat code to get to certain areas. E.g., I've erased my GTA:SA save games, so if I were to play the game again, I'd just enter cheats to get the weapons and open territories, because I wouldn't want to start from scratch again.

The one about Blizzard + giving Gold hurts everybody else on his server, otherwise I would say good for him.
